Leaving Certificate Applied

Leaving Certificate Applied is a distinct, self contained two year programme aimed at preparing students for adult and working life. It is an innovative programme in the way students learn, in what they learn and in the way their achievements are assessed. It is intended to meet the needs of students who are not adequately catered for in other Leaving Certificate programmes.

Students who successfully complete the programme will receive a Leaving Certificate which will be awarded at three levels - Pass, Merit and Distinction. A student can proceed to further education through the vast majority of Post Leaving Certificate Courses (PLC) which are available in some second level schools and colleges.
