Book Rental Scheme 2020/2021We have completed a full review and audit of the Book Rental Scheme operating in the school. The Book Rental Scheme is a wonderful facility that we provide in the school to combat the ever increasing costs of school books however the school Book Rental Scheme has been running at a significant loss, the ever changing nature of the new Junor Cycle coupled with the non-return of books makes it difficult to continue to operate the scheme without significant changes.
From 2019/2020 onwards all new students wishing to avail of the book rental scheme will have to pay a €60 refundable deposit along with €150 in 1st year and €70 in 2nd year. There will not be a Book Rental charge in 3rd year to reflect the additional costs incurred through the purchase of exam papers etc. The estimated cost of school books for a Junior Cert student is €400; the Book Rental charge of €220 remains significantly below this. Please note that a book rental scheme is not available at senior cycle due to the shorter 2 year cycle. |
